APV Assists Client to Obtain a $246,000 Verdict Against Universal Property & Casualty Insurance
APVisuals recently assisted Kevin D. Mercer, Esq. of Kevin D. Mercer, P.A. and Jeffrey Altman, Esq. of the The Altman Law Firm in a property damage suit against Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company in Miami-Dade.
Plaintiffs' property sustained water damage by wear and tear to their plumbing system. As a result of the water damage, Plaintiff filed a claim with Universal Property & Casualty
Insurance. Universal denied the claim. Plaintiffs sued Universal claiming that Universal should pay for certain damages to their home, as well as the cost to tear out and replace parts of their home in order to access their plumbing system and certain bacteria that the Plaintiffs allege have leaked underneath their home. After a three day trial, a Miami-Dade County jury awarded the Plaintiffs $246,000 in compensatory damages.
